When you let the world take the reins, it tends to lead you into the desert, where failure becomes both prominent and imminent.
Too many times, I said yes to what the world wanted of me instead of saying yes to what my Creator wanted from me.
I've run as hard and as far away as I could, all just to escape my unique and divine calling. I operated out of fear and anxiety, wanting to please everyone I met. And when you hand your identity over to the world, it will ask you to become whatever it needs you to be, leaving you with no clear sense of who you were created to become.
It wasn't until I was at my lowest that I realized I was created for so much more. I had an identity and a calling that far surpassed anything I had ever given myself credit for. It was during that time that I formed my strongest, most unshakable relationship with Christ Jesus because He called me His righteous son and loved me even though I had fallen so far down.
God showed me a way back up and a way back to Him and His calling for me, a calling that included a creative, entrepreneurial path where He wanted me to use my gifts to create for others and for His kingdom.
Since the day I said yes to Him and relinquished the control I had tried so desperately to hold over my own life and plans, He has blessed me with relationships and ideas I know I would never have had otherwise.
We truly are living in the good old days, and I am more grateful than ever, both for where I am now and for everything still to come, that I said yes.
Where Progne Comes In
Progne was a concept I had wrestled with for most of my life. I always knew it involved creativity in some sense of the word. I just never knew it would come to envelop me the way it has.
Being able to create for others is more than a dream. It's who I was created to be, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I look forward to every mistake, every victory, and everything in between, and I'll be documenting all of it right here.
Right now, I run the business out of my dad's garage. My goal is to grow it into its own space and, someday, its own storefront.
Never believe you can't do the things you feel called to do, because I can assure you, you absolutely can.
